EA Sports announced the arrival on Wednesday, August 9, of the trailer and developers’ notes dedicated to the Ultimate Team mode.

EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Teams New Features
New features announced in recent weeks include:
Evolutions
For the first time ever, you can improve your club’s players with Ultimate Team™ Evolutions, a new way to create your roster based on the players you prefer. Choose players who meet the criteria for the Evolutions and complete a series of goals to improve their individual skills, playing styles, and overall ratings to keep them competitive throughout the season. You’ll even enhance the appearance of their player items with new designs and animated backgrounds so you can showcase your Evolutions players and the achievements they’ve made at your club.
Women’s Football
Women’s football will soon be in Ultimate Team™ with the most substantial addition of stars in a single year, thanks to the arrival of six new leagues that will offer a wide range of new possibilities when creating your dream eleven. In addition, you’ll be able to build your team from some of the pioneers of women’s soccer, finally available as ICONS and Hero items.
New Heroes
The past few weeks have also seen the unveiling of the new Ultimate Team “Heroes,” with the announcement also of the overall “Hero Champions League” version coming in late November.
Play Styles
Play styles introduce a new dynamic in Ultimate Team™ that goes beyond total ratings, allowing you to create your roster based on your knowledge of the players and how they play. Play Styles+ accentuate this dynamic and offer players on-field skills that few others can boast. Play styles+ are visible on the player object, giving you a way to immediately notice their most well-known and recognizable characteristics.
Developer’s Notes – Ultimate Team
Ultimate Team Evolutions is a powerful new system that changes the way you think about and build your team. For the first time, you will be able to improve and customize the players in your Club. You can take your favorite players with lower ratings from any Club and upgrade them, just as you can adjust and customize your best players by adding special moves, changing work rates, and improving weak footing, as a few examples.
As you upgrade your players, you will also earn visual enhancements to show all the work you have put into them. After evolving a player once, that’s just the beginning. You will be able to put the same player through several Evolutions throughout the year, so that at the end of the year you will have unique versions of players that no one else has. With the addition of the women’s leagues and the Evolutions, this is the year when you can finally build your Ultimate Team.
How does it work? What is an Evolution?
You can upgrade and evolve your players by engaging them in an Evolution slot and completing game challenges with that player. Once the challenges are completed, the player will have permanent upgrades.
Requirements:
Not all players are eligible for every Evolution. You will need to check the requirements to know which players you can use. An example might be “Evolve a Silver player” or “Evolve a left-back with 3* special moves.”
A selection of Evolutions will be freely available to players each season, and some will have FC 24 coins or coins/points requirements. Just like the balance of upgrades obtained through SBC, Goals, and the Transfer Market, we want to make sure that the upgrade paths of Evolutions are balanced in Ultimate Team.
Challenges:
Each Evolution comes with a set of challenge levels to complete. They can range from simple, such as “Play 5 scoring matches with this player in your starting lineup,” to more demanding challenges such as “Win 10 Champions Team matches with this player.” Complete all challenges in a level to earn power-ups and unlock additional levels of challenges to complete.
Power-ups:
You can get upgrades for your player after each completed challenge level. They will vary from general stat upgrades (e.g., +5 OVR) to hyper-specific attribute upgrades (e.g., +5 of Curve). You can even customize and upgrade the following:
- Skill Stars
- Workrates
- Play Styles
- Alternative Positions
- Weak Foot
You can also unlock new visual elements and animated backgrounds for your favorite players.
During the Season:
Our goal is to keep the Evolutions fresh and up-to-date. We will add more ways to evolve your team during the season. Some Evolutions may only be available for a limited time and will need to be completed by a certain time, or some may require enrollment by a certain time. We will share more details about Evolutions in an upcoming in-depth Game Notes.
Women’s Football in Ultimate Team
Ultimate Team in EA SPORTS FC™ 24 unites both halves of the World Game, bringing men’s and women’s soccer to play on the same field. By increasing the player pool by about ~1600 players, our goal is for each Ultimate Team to be unique and for you to build your dream lineup with the players you love.
In addition, a select number of clubs and their players from the UEFA Women’s Champions League will be available in Ultimate Team at launch, unlocking even more roster-building possibilities.
Will men and women players play on the same field?
Yes, all players will play on the same field in Ultimate Team. With more players than ever to choose from, you’ll have the opportunity to get creative with hybrid teams from different leagues.
Ratings shown are for illustrative purposes only. Ratings and playing styles are subject to change.
How will the understanding work?
The way the understanding works will remain the same with an additional opportunity to link players between men’s and women’s soccer. All players will continue to link to other players from the same leagues and nations (e.g., WSL players will link to other WSL players, all English players will link to other English players, etc.). This year, you will also have the ability to link female soccer players to female soccer players who play for their affiliated club (e.g., all Chelsea Barclays Women’s Super League players will link to all Chelsea Premier League players).
How do Ultimate Team ratings work now?
All players in Ultimate Team are rated in relation to the leagues and competitions in which they play on the real field. The best players from the best leagues in men’s and women’s soccer will bring their ratings to the same virtual field in Ultimate Team. Basic player ratings will be consistent with Kick Off in EA SPORTS FC 24, where men’s and women’s teams play independently (e.g., if a player has a rating of 85 in Kick Off, they will also have a basic OVR of 85 in Ultimate Team).
PlayStyles
Play Styles introduce a new dynamic in Ultimate Team that goes beyond overall ratings, allowing you to build your team based on your knowledge of the players and how they actually play on the field.
Each Style of Play affects gameplay, giving players unique abilities that you will see and feel, making the way they play more authentic. Play Styles+ enhance these distinctive abilities to a world-class standard. Think of Sam Kerr’s power in headshots or Haaland’s acrobatic ability, reflecting the skills of elite players to play at a level few others can achieve.

Game Styles will change the way you look at items. As you scan the Transfer Market or examine your opponent’s roster during pregame, you will want to pay attention to each player’s Play Styles. They can be a good indicator of how your opponent will want to play and what his playing strategy might be. In this article, we will focus on how they will change your experience in Ultimate Team. For more details on how Gameplay Styles and Gameplay Styles+ affect gameplay, see the in-depth gameplay discussion here.
If a player has a Play Style+, an icon is displayed on the object’s face. You can find more details about Gameplay Styles in one of the object views, as well as in the Player Biography.
Goals
Goals are one of the most popular and engaging features of Ultimate Team, and we wanted to revamp them for EA SPORTS FC™ 24.
With all the great content in Ultimate Team, it can sometimes be hard to find what’s right for you. Goal Groups will now be organized on multiple tabs so you can find, play, and manage your progress more easily.
Although our goals can be extremely fun, as we presented them in the past they could seem a bit boring. Some Goal Groups will now have themed backgrounds so that the energy and personality of our campaigns can really shine through.

Redeem Everything
There are many fantastic rewards in the Objectives and they can accumulate quickly for busy players. We want you to get back to the action faster, so we have introduced a new Redeem All button.
Pressing Redeem All will allow you to redeem all completed Goal rewards within a single Goal Group and will send the rewards to your Club.
Community Enhancements
We really value our players and the feedback you all provide. We listen to you and draw a lot of inspiration and prioritize ideas from everything you share with us in the forums and on social media.
For Ultimate Team in EA SPORTS FC™ 24, it has been important for us to take the time to address some of the changes and improvements that are most requested for quality of life. Please continue to share your feedback with us, it is greatly appreciated!
Card Design
As you have probably noticed, we have made some changes to our player item designs. By changing the architecture of the item information, we have created 30% more space for athlete photos and dynamic images. This also allows more breathing room for campaign object designs to shine.

New player object layout and wider items
All items in the game have changed shape to a new, wider version. The display of the player object’s face has undergone significant layout changes, with more space for the player’s portrait and background art, moving the Club and Nation emblems to the bottom of the object, as well as introducing the Leagues’ emblems on the objects, attributes on a single line, and adding the first-owner status.
Improvements to special items
For special/in-form cards, we made some improvements to make them stand out more, such as expanding the embellishments and making the dynamic image “pop out” from the borders
