The Ajay Devgn Starrer Drishyam released 20 days ago at the China Box Office. However, despite only seeing a modest response from viewers it has managed to rake up $3.37million (Rs 25.79cr) after two weeks of release at the Chinese Box Office -a feat most films would kill for given circumstances. Different movie theaters were recently closed due to an infectious disease which has sparked fears across regions in the country; and with such events during turbulent times it isn’t surprising that Bollywood films are experiencing poor responses overseas in general.
What remains unseen is how long will these policies remain enforced while also keeping other global markets in mind- because currently it appears highly unlikely that even though Drishyam was able to make money (and then some), there might not be any more foot traffic going forward if current trends persist for long enough.
