Despite it’s lackluster start in China, Drishyam has found success after a week at the country’s box office-attracting USD 2.4 million to date. This is against expectations for the film based on reports stating that films generally see trade and revenue increases over time as opposed to day of release projections; despite being faced with some difficulties due to sections of the market closing down due to Covid-19 resurfacing again in China.
It remains unclear what impact this information might have had on future projections for Drishyam’s performance at the countrys’ theater– but it remains hopeful among trade analysts that boxes could trickle into gradually without significant interruptions from these events going forward.
