If the pull had just been from Diwali festivities and devoted cinephiles, we may have seen a downward spiral in earnings beginning Tuesday. Thankfully, this wasn’t the case and the film raked in Rs. 8.30 crores on Thursday, signalling that its second week may follow suit. Sure enough, Friday brought in an additional Rs. 6.83 crores.
It is that even general audiences have an enthusiasm for seeing movies in cinemas, considering Sooryavanshi was able to acquire the best opening day gross since Baaghi 3 on 6th March 2020 – that is despite a 20-month gap. The numbers amassed by the movie on its second Friday remain the highest thus far.
The benchmarkupcoming release is to surpass the current figures and strive for more. On November 19th, the highly anticipated sequel of Bunty aur Babli is set to premiere with the starring of Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh. If they are successful in accomplishing the feat, then it would surely be a big boost for Bollywood.
