Godzilla vs Kong was the only film that was successfulcapturing the attention of audiences, mainly in the south. This is evident in the drastic difference between the amount collected by the film in comparison to the total earnings of the other Hindi films being screened.
The Hollywood monster movieearned Rs. 4.22 crores on its opening day. Despite a decline in attendance from Wednesday (Rs. 6.40 crores) to Thursday (Rs. 5.40 crores) and Friday, the movie’s revenue is predicted to remain consistent on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday due to the holiday of Holi. So far, the film has collected a total of Rs. 16.02 crores in only three days, a greater amount than any other Bollywood or Hollywood film has made since the start of the pandemic.
This other new release, Saina, just managed to earn Rs. 15 lakhs on its opening day. The film is receiving widespread praise from critics, a sign that had it been released in more normal circumstances, it would likely have had a much different outcome. These are unprecedented times, however, so the traditional pattern of increased revenue on Saturdays cannot be expected.
The of Mumbai Saga and Roohi are entering their final stretch, as they have accrued sizeable additional numbers. On Friday, Mumbai Saga brought in around 50 lakhs*, while Roohi collected 25 lakhs*. Both films stand at a respective total of 14.93 crores* and 22.25 crores*. Some minimal box–office takings should continue until Holi, the best–earning day for each of the films during their entire runs.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
