With 5 weeks under his belt, Salman Khan’s latest movie has been running at theaters around India. Upon release in Tripura three years ago, only three theaters played it before releasing in Aurangabad and Malegaon this year. However, while the movie initially ran at the Malegana theater for a week before shutting down again due to Delta Plus starting up, it managed to stay running at the theater until June 27.
The same day that cinema halls reopened in Maharashtra last month – including Cinema Hall Friday Multiplex and Rupam Cinema both located in Surat as well as Amber Cinema located just outside of Jamnagar- an assortment of Indian states were able to resume showing movies after five weeks of being off limits because of Delta-Plus infection control measures came into effect.
During the weekday days, Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai screened well in Rupam Cinema and Amber Cinema. Surprisingly for weekends, there wasn’t much interest shown for Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai’s screenings at Rupam Cinema. And so despite selling 76 tickets on Thursday when it opened at The Friday Cinema, around 40% of showtimes were canceled because there weren’t enough interested patrons. Nevertheless, the film still ran well at Amber Cinema by selling 102 ticket on Wednesday alone!
A trade expert told Bollywood Hungama, Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai collected around Rs. 4,322 on Friday, Rs. 3,022 on Saturday and Rs. 11,523 on Sunday. As for the current status of Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai’s box office earnings? The collections so far stand at Rs. 1,71,587 after a span of just two days only! A source from the industry tells us this is because viewers are coming to see a film which will complete 2 months in a week but also points out that it was heavily trolled and is also easily available online as well.
Meanwhile, cinemas are allowed to open in Uttar Pradesh; however, Radhe -Your Most Wanted Bhai has not been released in the Northern region. A source says, It is likely that once cinemas are able to operate during all days of the week, Radhe- Your Most Wanted Bhai will be shown in some theaters. Though it was unexpected for theatres outside of Uttar Pradesh would show such an appetite for this film – considering how popular Salman Khan is among his fans there.
