Last week’s release, Bell Bottom starring Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor has slowed down further at the box-office. The film has collected in the range of Rs. 80 to 90 lakhs on the ninth day, taking the total collection around Rs. 19.50 crore mark (which would be $2 million USD). The Akshay Kumar film stayed weak on the weekdays, but one expects it to record a better trend at the box office. It is now looking at lifetime collections around $30 million USD after approximately 9 days ($3 million USD per year).
While Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Punjabi industries have already seen some blockbusters since last weekend, it still remains to be seen what kind of turnout Bollywood will see this month for its own huge releases in this time frame – both Raees releasing Friday January 26th and Pink releasing Sunday January 28th.
