Amidst the pandemic, Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starrer, Laxmii, made its debut on Disney+ Hotstar on November 9, 2020. With theatres opening up in India at a capacity of 50%, previous films were released in cinemas and only few new ones would make it to the big screen. Laxmii, however, saw no theatrical release in India but had a limited capacity release overseas, in countries such as U.A.E, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
