On November , 2020, Laxmii starring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani, premiered exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar. Since theatres had been closed since March due to the coronavirus pandemic, the decision was made to have a direct-to-OTT release. Now, with theatres opening up with 50% capacity in certain Indian states, certain movies are being shown in cinemas and only a select few are getting a full–fledged theatrical release. Unfortunately, Laxmii will not be joining that list in India, however, it is receiving a limited release in some overseas countries such as U.A.E, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
