Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starrer, Laxmi, came out on November 9th to the streaming platform Disney+. Because theaters had closed all over India back in March because of a coronavirus pandemic that killed hundreds of people – many films were released direct-to-OTT during this time period.
Now, cinemas are opening again for 50% capacity in most Indian states which means old movies are coming out too but only a few new ones will release at theaters. One movie that won’t come out is Laxmi – it was released overseas [UAE, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji] but just in limited capacity. Let’s talk about how it did internationally!
