Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starrer Laxmii made its way to the streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar on November 9, 2020. Due to a nationwide shutdown of theaters for six months, many movies were given Direct-to-OTT releases for Indian audiences who could not find theatres. With theaters starting back up this month at 50% capacity in most places across India – some old films are being shown again while only few new ones will be released in cinemas.
One such movie is Laxmii which was never shown in Indian cinemas but can now be streamed on the Disney+ website or app while it also hit screens overseas early this year – namely UAE, Australia and New Zealand. We’ll now look at what numbers these other countries brought home so far!
