Last week, Akshay Kumar’s latest production release Sooryavanshi hit theaters to an overwhelmingly great response from its audience. Reviews for the film are mostly positive and people who’ve seen it seem to really love it. It seems that this movie is going to do pretty good at the box office so far – especially considering how popular he is internationally where they opened up 1,300 screens just for his film!
Overseas opening day numbers are looking really promising since it only opened in these countries but there are still another few weeks left before we can say anything definitively about whether or not this movie was a success overall.
Day 1 – 1.08 mil. USD [Rs. 8.10 cr.]
Day 2 – 1.15 mil. USD [Rs. 8.53 cr.]
Day 3 – 1.06 mil. USD [Rs. 7.85 cr.]
Day 4 – 0.48 mil. USD [Rs. 3.55 cr.]
Given the hype surrounding Sooryavanshi and the fact that it was the first high-budget Bollywood movie to release after people started dying from some strange disease, many expected the movie’s business to boom out of control on opening day.
