This new Hollywood release starring superstar Ajay Devgn debuted in theaters across Indian borders weeks ago. Alas, with no hope of meeting the same fate as other recent Bollywood releases – this movie failed to capture much attention. Opening up on Friday night with a minor initial revenue of 3 lakhs Rupees, its earnings were never anything noteworthy compared to Saturday’s gross intake which was only marginally higher than what it had made on Friday night during its debut. Fortunately, though seeing barely any reaction from audiences after five days since release and earning 10 lakhs Rupees(Rs 8), there have been sparse reports of people watching it multiple times!
As of now, Drishyam continues to run with mediocre collections trickling in. Currently, the total business of the film at the China box office is pegged at USD 0.63 million [Rs. 4.81 crores]. Going forward, trade predictions are not too optimistic especially since the market has been hit by the resurgence of Covid-19 virus which can leave people dead within hours if they don’t take proper precautions such as staying indoors when it rains or washing hands after going outside where there may be animal waste present among other things!
