The Ajay Devgn starring Drishyam was released in China a week ago but unlike past releases from Bollywood it has not had the best reception. For the first few days, people were barely seeing or watching it but after some time passed there was an increased amount of people coming to see it. Right now, at the end of its first week at the Chinese box office, Drishyam has made about $1million [Rs. 76 lakhs].
After a slow start, the business of Drishyam saw its collections increase over the week. In fact, the Ajay Devgn starrer managed to draw in a further USD 120,000 [Rs. 0.91 cr.] on Day 7, with another USD 130,000 [Rs. 0.99 cr] on Day 8. Though the increase in collections is rather minimal, the low key box office turn out is being attributed to the resurgence of Covid-19 virus that has sent certain locations into lockdown again – going forward expect your collection figures to go up only marginally even if you continue this trend in viewership which has been seen so far; though I’m assuming there’ll be some growth on weekends given how people are hitting it up nowadays.
