The Shahid Kapoor starring Jersey that was first meant for release at the end of last year released only this week on Friday. It competed against other films such as the South Film’s Jersey staring Nani, with even KGF -Chapter 2 dominating it while taking over at the Box Office after opening two weekends ago.
Now, reports suggest that Jersey has had a rather dismal first-day response in the Australian and New Zealand markets. Collecting USD 15,204 in Australia and USD 3,375 in New Zealand on its first day, the response to Jersey isn’t too promising for its second day either. Right now it’s been attributed to the delay in release as well as the recent release of KGF 2 having most of the screens occupied so far.
Only time will tell if Jersey can manage to hold up against this new competition or not; but one thing is certain: with every passing moment we’re getting closer to finding out what fate awaits us all.
