The Ajay Devgn-starring thriller Drishyam has been released for 25 days at the Chinese box office. While it had a rather lackluster opening, and despite its many differences from previous Bollywood films shown in China, Drishyam is struggling to find success there.
Now on Day 25 Drishyam has managed to draw in a further USD 240,000 [Rs. 1.85 cr.] more taking its total collections at the China box office to USD 4.08 million [Rs. 31.59 cr]. Unlike previous releases, Drishyam faced a tough time due to people being locked down from entering movie theaters while they battled an outbreak of Covid-19 Virus all over the country; it was nowhere near as popular as other films released this year – until now!
Going forward, the business of the film at the China box office is not really expected to see much growth. Trade expectations say that Drishyam’s collection rates will gradually tick up but it won’t rise enough to be significant.
