The Ajay Devgn-starring ‘Drishyam’ opened to cinemas in China 29 days ago. Although it started off without a bang, the film was met with lackluster success and did not see much of an increase after its opening weekend. Unlike other Indian films screened in the country – which have seen great reception from audiences – ‘Drishyam’ has been battling for survival at cinemas across the country.
Now on day 29 Drishyam has managed to draw in a further $80,000 [Rs. 61890 K] more taking its total collections at the China box office to $4.34 million [Rs. 335960 K]. Unlike previous releases, Drishyam has been facing a tough time in China due to sections of the market being under lockdown due to the resurgence of the Covid-19 virus.
Going forward, the business of Drishyam at the China box office is not really expected to see much growth according to trade predictions. However, it is predicted that more people are going to be seeing increased collections in coming months while there will not be a steep rise in numbers.
