Yesterday, the much talked about movie starring Ranveer Singh, Jayeshbhai Jordaar was finally released. With lower expectations and reviews going into it, we can see why this film received such a tepid response at the box office. It made only 3.25 crores on its first day of release; yet even then it didn’t fare too well among critics or viewers alike.
In this box office report, we compare the opening day collections of Jayeshbhai Jordaar while mentioning how they are similar to those made by Ranveer Sing’ past films. Collecting Rs. 3.25 cr when most of his other openings had been around the mid-six digit mark (from 0.95 crores for Band Baaja Baaraat to 6.53 crores for Kalank), Jayeshbhai Jaradaar can only be described as being one of a handful from Ranveer Singh’s movies where he’d recorded low numbers at first glance (with Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl being an exception).
If that wasn’t all, taking into account RaoVeera Singh’s performance over time; it could be argued that Jayesbhavi Jaradaar is also one of five films out of 12 in which he’d opened with comparatively low figures on Day 1 – although these claims have yet to be verified completely due to lack of proper data available.
Going forth, it seems like Jayeshbhai Jordaar won’t experience much growth in the company due to lack of new projects and investments. Over this past weekend, though, there was a surge of interest for the movie but overall expectations for the film are still very low. In addition to receiving little feedback about his work lately, Jayeshbhai Jordaar also faces stiff competition from other films released before him which will inevitably hurt his business potential even more.
