Jersey, starring Shahid Kapoor and directed by Sriram Madhav, was released two months after originally planned. Nani’s original (unreleased) version of the movie had been remade with slight changes in some scenes. Audiences weren’t expecting high earnings so they didn’t spend money on this film. The movie did well for 3 weeks before going downhill due to lack of advertising and competition against other films already out like KGF-Chapter 2 and RRR.
Other competing films include Runway 34, Heropanti2, and the Hollywood release Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which decreased the number of people attending Jersey screenings over its second or third week respectively. Most theaters are now playing other films so there won’t be many chances left for Jersey audiences to spend money on this movie again before it disappears completely from theaters forever.
