Two weeks ago, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was released after being directed by Anees Bazmee and starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani. Since then, the blockbuster film has been garnering an immense number of viewers despite having many screens around the country playing it at one time. Despite initially seeing success from its opening weekend, the business for this Bhushan Kumar – Murad Khetani production only continued to grow as every week passed. Now on day thirteen of release and still going strong despite having played thousands of shows all over India, it seems there will be no foreseeable end to this movie’s success story.
This week’s box office report found Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 securing close to Rs. 4.5 crores during its second Wednesday release—making it the fourth highest grossing movie during the same day of May 24, 2022. While not managing to surpass the earnings made by other previous releases – such as The Kashmir Files, KGF – Chapter 2, and even Return – it still managed a somewhat successful earning total thanks to Kartik Aaryan’s performance for what was supposedly his first fully bilingual release; beating his co-star Alia Bhatt who starred in Gubbukathiwadi with less than 3 crores earned from its second Wednesday earnings alone.
Moving forward, it appears as though there will be three new films released this Friday, which includes Samrat Prithviraj’s Samrat, Vikram’s Vikram, and Major’s Major. As these films are set to release during the same week – Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 may experience a dip in earnings. Nonetheless, those who work within the film industry remain optimistic about how well the film will fare at the Box Office.
