When it comes to the infamous Bollywood sequel- Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, there are many questions that come up. Will Salman Khan finally agree to work on this movie? When will filming begin? And can we all please stop speculating about when and where AKA presents No Entry Mein Entry? But what matters most is that we know of Anees Bazmee’s idea for the film and how high expectations are; regardless of how many years have passed since they last made a Bollywood feature together. This situation reminds me of another successful director who was rejected by Salman but still went onto create an amazing movie with none other than Hrithik Roshan (Hindi Medium) – creating one of Bollywood’s highest grossing films of all time!
What an outstanding performance Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has been having at the box office. After opening at Rs. 14.11 crores on Friday, the film collected Rs. 7.27 crores on Thursday; which is less than half of what it was able to make on its first day, but that hasn’t stopped it from being consistent ever since it opened! Typically films will lose around 50% each day they are open – yet here we are seeing no sign of this happening every day this week so far!
As of now, the film has collected Rs. 92.05 crore and could easily surpass the Rs. 150 crore mark. Anything over and above what we’ve seen so far would be a welcome surprise as no one had anticipated this much success for the Anees Bazmee-directed blockbuster; but with its family-entertainment factor and great track record on TV networks and streaming services, there isn’t even a doubt that it will make up for any losses we see in theaters alone.
