The recent release of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 movie, starring Aaryan and Kiara Advani has seen success since it came out last Friday. After collecting Rs. 14.11 cr on its opening day, the film saw even more success when it had crossed Rs. 50 cr by Sunday evening in just one weekend run. It is currently still being screened across theaters after holding up well through this past week with a strong reception from viewers who can’t seem to get enough of the story and actors alike!
In this box office report, we look at the opening week collections of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 while comparing them to films released previously in 2022. Collecting Rs. 92.05 cr Bholi Bhaatiiyaa 2 managed to surpass Gangubai Kathiawadi which collected Rs. 68.93 cr for a 4th place spot for highest opening weekends grosser in 2022- but it still has some work ahead because it needs to outperform films like Bachchhan Paandey (Rs 47.98cr), Heropanti 2 (Rs 23.60cr), Runway 34 (Rs 22.25cr) Radhe Shyam (Rs 18.20cr) and Jersey (12.21cr).
Even though it was released over 3200 screens in India, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 did not exceed other films like KGF – Chapter 2 which grossed Rs. 268.63 crores (268 million), RRR which grossed Rs. 132.59 crores (132 million) and The Kashmir Files which grossed Rs. 97.30 crores (97 million). Going forward, its business is expected to rise after its release next week due to having only two films similar or worse than it to compete with at the box office over this coming weekend including pre-existing films being shown again until they are replaced by newer films that come out later on this month so it’s expected that among all those movies here are just going up against itself for a while now- it’ll probably make the most money out of any film shown now at least until the end of next week when there’ll be a slew of new releases taking place.
