The star-studded action drama Dhaakad, starring Kangana Ranaut that was released only a week ago, has met mediocre success at the Box Office despite heavy promotion before its release. The film did not find many viewers because it lacked the interest and engagement of people. As such, business for the movie remained low.
Overseas, too, Dhaakad has not been doing well. With figures such as these from the United States – the country where Kangana Ranaut’s film debuted at – it became clear that success for her venture in foreign countries would not be met with any great reception either. The US cinema industry only pulled up USD 40,238 [Rs. 31.26 lakhs] for Dhaakad which eventually resulted in less revenue coming from other countries including Canada (USD 13,191 [Rs. 10.24 lakhs], United Kingdom-Ireland (USD 11,558 [Rs. 8.97 lakhs]), Australia (USD 6,691 [Rs Rs 5.19 lakhs]) and New Zealand (USD 1,872).
Going forward, Dhaakad has been a disaster at the box office in both its domestic and international markets. It only played for a couple days before disappearing from theaters completely with only a few screens still showing it.
