The Kartik Aaryan – Kiara Advani starring Bhool Bihulaiyaa 2 debuted not too long ago and ever since it’s come out it hasn’t stopped selling at the box office. It started well with Rs. 14.11 crores coming from its opening weekend but then it managed to cross Rs. 50 crores easily once that passed. In the meantime, The Bhushan Kumar – Murad Khetani production remained stable throughout its run, but saw a noticeable boost in viewership over the movie’s second weekend as well as final moments after achieving peak popularity within just one week of release!
In this Box Office Report, we compare the second-weekend collections of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 against some other recent releases from 2022. Collecting Rs. 30.64 crore, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has surpassed Gangubai Kathiawadi which collected Rs. 23.29 crore to become the fourth highest grosser for Saturday and Sunday in 2022. Along with this title being a record breaker – Kartik Aaryan starrer seems to have emerged as the third highest ever release among Saturday and Sunday records beating other titles such as Runway 34 which only managed to collect Rs. 4.75 crore, Badhaai Do collecting Rs 4.29 crore, Jhund collecting Rs 2 60 crores and Attack – Part 1 collecting only Rs 1 43 crores over its two days till now.
Despite the roaring success, wide audience appeal and of course the release on 3200 screens, the business for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 did not surpass other films in terms of revenue. Other films that were released before this one such as The Kashmir Files which grossed Rs. 70.15 crore, KGF – Chapter 2 which generated Rs. 52.49 crore, or RRR which generated Rs.52 crore had more collection points than it did during its second weekend.
Going forward, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which has done exceedingly well despite the IPL finals is expected to see continued growth over the coming week. In fact, looking at the current trend trade predictions state that the business of the film has a high chance of achieving Rs. 150 cr at the box office, with an outside chance to even go past $200 million.
