Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2 has started off with a slow take-off according to early estimations; especially at smaller theaters located outside of the country. The film earned ̃7.5-8 million rupees during its first day, which was less than anticipated by most in the entertainment industry. Surprisingly, the film managed to impress audiences at major chains such as PVR, Inox and Cinepolis who are usually only interested in international films despite being located within India itself–a country often considered for their cinema tastes.
The expected trend was for lower earnings from small theaters and single screen theaters since many are known for hosting a majority of Hindi films alongside Bollywood movies; however that wasn’t the case here. As a result, those 3 major chains made up 65% or more of this opening day revenue while other local establishments were left flatfooted without much success.
There has been minimal bookings from bulk booking days one, but it does not seem to have made a difference in what the film will make. The opening day is better than its competition – Runway 34 – and this opeining will allow Heropanti 2 to grow over the coming weekend. It depends on whether the final numbers are high or low at different establishments nationwide; however, analyzing data from both national chains and single screens suggests that there may be an opening of around Rs. 75 lakhs (INR) for Tiger Shroff-Tara Sutaria’s Action Film. This kind of film would usually open up with a good number between 10 lakhs (INR) and 12 lakhs (INR).
