With two, three, or even four new releases per week being commonplace these days, Ujda Chaman stands alone as the sole release today. Until just a few days ago, it appeared that there would be multiple films released on this Friday; chief among them was Bala starring Ayushmann Khurranna which shares a similar theme. However, the conflict has been avoided and Ujda Chaman is set to make its entrance without any other contenders.
Ujda Chaman’s arrival comes during a time when Housefull 4, led by Akshay Kumar, has achieved significant success with screenings being packed until Thursday. Fortunately, the movie managed to acquire theaters for itself which will boost its viewership.
This Abhishek Pathak movie has garnered notable attention and its strong setup, stage and cast is expected to lead to positive word-of-mouth. It doesn’t need a colossal opening but it should do well with an opening of around 2-3 crores to build on if reviews are favourable.
