Fantastic days continued to pour in as Indian cinema seems unstoppable. If these numbers don’t convince you, then let me say this – Super Sundays seem more appropriate now considering how the numbers are stacking up. Multiplexes are always running out of seats, with houseful shows being a norm for days such as these. But let’s talk about RRR (Hindi) first; before its release it was looking like Sunday would earn 40-45 crores which seemed achievable given two factors – high anticipations and good word of mouth from theaters so far.
What could never be predicted though is how quickly projections changed from 10 crore on opening day to 70 crores today – where coming up on 73 crores in fact. Multiple screens across the world have been showing overflowing audiences, who’ve come back multiple times without missing an opportunity to experience cinematic splendor – no matter what type they prefer!
As for The Kashmir Files, it had dropped on Friday to Rs. 4.50 crores which was on the expected lines, though Saturday had seen a good jump again with Rs. 7.25 crores. What was needed was momentum to keep going – and this came through when Anupam Kher’s film increased its earnings yet again; hitting Rs 8.75 crores already! This indicated that Monday would also see another increase in revenue – anything above 3.5 crores being an excellent result! The collections of the Vivek Agnihotri directed film now stand at Rs 228 crore and are very close to reaching the next milestone of  250 crore!
