RRR is an outlier as the film continues to slay the box office with its spectacular run. The much-talked about SS Rajamouli film has collected approx. Rs. 140 crores gross on Sunday to take the opening weekend total to approximately Rs. 485 crores. The movie has a shot of even going close to the Rs. 500 crore mark at the global box office, and it would all depend on where the final figures land in the overseas belt. The movie has collected approximately Rs. 190 crore gross in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone, with nearly Rs. 120 crores coming from the overseas belt. Hindi circuits contributed Rs. 88 crores, with Tamil Nadu clocking Rp 110 Crore+, over the weekend.
Karnataka and rest of India contributed an additional Rs. 40 crores to the cause, with Kerala raising up Rs. 12 crores+. The opening weekend for Ra-One Reloaded was the second highest grossing in Indian cinema after Baahubali 2 – with both films being directed by SS Rajamouli. This past weekend RRR took over at number one globally – outselling other international releases too.
By the end of its run, Ra-One Reloaded hopes to reach 1000 crore rupees worldwide – making it only the 3rd film from India to do so! Unlike Baahubali 2 though which managed 4 digits (1000 cr), RRR might just be able to break 4000 cr rupees which would make it only Indian movie ever released without a China release that could achieve this accomplishment!
