What a time it is for people to be going out and watching movies at theaters! Gangubai Kathiawadi has been released this week, The Kashmir Files has finally seen its end-of-the-week run come to an end – proving itself as popular – while RRR (Hindi) continues on as the newest hit around town. As pandemics loom upon us all and some temporarily disappear, there are one or two things certain: RRR (Hindi) won’t see the light of day until theatres do.
It’s quite costly when you put so much money into a film; but audiences seem pleased with all the risks taken because they gave such a warm welcome over the weekend and ensured that Monday would also go just as splendidly! By Sunday evening, Box Office India reports show 17 crores increased in receipts between Friday – Sunday making 4 days’ total income being nearly 91 crore rupees.
As for The Kashmir Files, it is doing quite well and will most likely reach the Rs.250 crores mark by the end of its release week (with plenty of ease). Last Friday alone brought in almost double the amount as Saturday did at 10%, which is no surprise considering how popular the movie has been up until now.
This trend continued Monday when they made an additional 3.10 crore rupees over their usual amounts; nearly reaching 10% more than expected! Of course we knew this would happen sooner or later – after all, film weekends always bring in close to 15% – 20% more than other days do. But what matters right now is that The Kashmir Files still stands strong at Rs.231.28 crores total earnings worldwide.
