Last week on Friday, the much-anticipated and highly talked about movie RRR was released. Following high praise from both critics and fans alike, it debuted at the box office on a strong note – earning close to USD $75 million within three days of its debut. On Monday, four days after its premiere, the business remained steady; adding an additional USD $17 million in revenue which brings us up to USD $91 million dollars so far!
Now on Day 5, RRR has managed to rake in Rs. 15.02 crore, taking the film into the very well-deserved Rs. 100 crore club. With a collection of Rs. 107.59 crore in just 5 days of its release, RRR has now become the 97th movie to enter this elite club. If that wasn’t all – achieving this feat within just five days of its release – RRR has managed to out beat certain other recent releases like Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior which collected 106 crores after six days of its release; or even Akshay Kumar’s Good Newsz which earned 117 crores in six days; or finally the recently released The Kashmir Files earning 116 crores over eight days time frame! With this – SS Rajamouli’s latest movie RRR – becomes the fastest Indian movie ever made to cross over 100 crores!
Besides this, RRR has made it past the Rs. 100 crore mark at India’s Domestic Box Office – becoming one of 3 films from its directing team to do so. And with Ram Charan and Jr. NTR releasing their first project in the ‘Rs. 100 crore club’ with RRR taking up Rs 1,076 crores – they are now joining names like Rajkumar Hirani and Ali Abbas Zafar as the few directors who achieved such a huge success.
