RRR, a much-anticipated blockbuster starring Ram Charan and NTR alongside Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn released last week to outstanding reviews from both critics and audiences. After an impressive opening weekend at the Box Office, RRR has had an increasing number of successful days with each passing day this past week. At the end of its first week in theaters, RRR has grossed $120.59 million US dollars.
In this Box Office Report, we will compare the number of people who went to watch the film called RRR against those who went to watch various other movies. During its first week alone, RRR has been able to earn Rs. 120.59 crores, which means it is higher than films like Bahubali- The Beginning (Rs. 118.7 crores), Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 (Rs 109 crores), and KGF- Chapter 1 (Rs 44 crores) among others. Unfortunately though, even with all the promotion, hype and fandom surrounding it, RRR cannot beat records set by releases such as Baahubali 2- The Conclusion (Rs 510 crore), 2.0 (Rs 189 crore) or Saaho (Rs 142 crore).
Currently still running in theatres, RRR has seen a release across multiple formats and is expected to increase in collections over its second weekend running. However with the John Abraham starrer Attack – Part 1 releasing this week, it seems there won’t be enough ticket buyers for two successful films within the same genre. Weekend estimates predict that the business of this movie will cross Rs. 150 crores by the end of its second weekend while the other might struggle at around half the figure – if not less.
