The SS Rajamouli directed film, RRR starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR with special appearances from Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn released a while back. With his first major studio release post the epic Baahubali saga, expectations for this movie were sky high. Luckily it was able to exceed them; providing viewers with an exciting film which lives up to its hype – living up to its title of being a grand finale as well as the end of an era. Released across 8000 screens in multiple languages and formats – even playing in select 4DX theaters – the movie has been doing fantastic business so far – both domestically and internationally!
In today’s Box Office Report, we examine the second weekend collections of RRR in comparison to past releases. Having already collected Rs. 52 cr on its second weekend, it becomes one of the seven all time best performing weekends ever with a 50% decrease from its first weekend revenue. And yet this number is set to rise even higher as it outdoes other hits such as ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, which had previously made Rs. 48 71 cr in two weeks; and ‘Tanaji:
The Unsung Warrior’, which earned Rs.48 54 crores over two weeks; or ‘Kabir Singh’ with earnings worth Rs 47 15 crores after two weeks – it has easily surpassed them both! But so far, RRRP continues to play in theaters managing to reel in the crowd despite attack having been released just last week; Trade proffers an optimistic future where they predict that they’ll make more than 200 cr this week!
