The Vivek Agnihotri directed film The Kashmir Files has been unstoppable at the box office since its release over three weeks ago. After opening on a modest note, the movie, which saw an increase in the total number of screens from 650 to 2000, also witnessed an exponential growth in business. Managing to cross both the Rs. 100 cr. and Rs. 200 cr.,
The Kashmir Files has fast become one of the most successful releases of recent time- even being recognized as such after only four weekends without showing any signs of slowing down! Interestingly, now after its fourth weekend running, this much-watched movie featuring Anupam Kher has managed to cross the point where it’s generated over 300 crores worldwide– all within just four short weeks!
Collecting Rs. 288.27 cr. gross from the domestic market alone, The Kashmir Files managed to draw in a further Rs. 42.25 cr. from the overseas markets with this, the total worldwide collections of the film is currently pegged at a whopping Rs. 330.52 crores! Considering how when it comes to new releases such as Bachchhan Paandey, RRR and more recently Attack – Part 1 releasing around this time last year; none were able to beat out The Kashmir Files’ dominance in terms of performance!
Even though these films are still running successfully enough in theatres; its safe to say that they’ll never catch up or match what these films accomplished during their release month!
