SS Rajamouli’s RRR starring Ram Charan, Jr. NTR and special appearances from Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn has done well in terms of initial profit. The major revenue was seen during the film’s opening week followed by increases through the next few weeks with a total first-week contribution to revenue amounting up to Rs. 132.59 crores only five days into the release date.
A little less than two weeks since then, and RRR(Hindi version) has achieved a grand total of Rs. 203.59 crores as it enters both the exclusive ‘Rs 200 cr club’ and debunks critics who said that the original Telugu language hit wouldn’t work well outside southern India making this Hindi remake one successful venture according to trade pundits all around especially considering what other commercial successes like Kabir Singh made shortly before it too entered into this list landing at number 21 .
If that wasn’t enough, with Hindi crossing the Rs. 200 cr mark for the first time, SS Rajamouli was able to snag his second place spot after Rohit Shetty, Ali Abbas Zafar and Rajkumar Hirani, all of which have 3 films that are already in this category. It is also worth mentioning here that Ram Charan and Jr. NTR will be joining this club when they make their debut with RRR because they too are at Rs. 200 crores or more respectively with recent releases like RRR (Telugu) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion respectively).
And while there are no predictions yet as to how much earnings RRR will generate during its second week run – one thing we do know is that it already has collected Rs. 203.59 cr thus far which means it could easily earn around RS 230 crore by the end of its 2nd weekend run!
