Almost two weeks ago, SS Rajamouli’s hotly anticipated movie RRR came out worldwide. With stars like Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn making cameo appearances as well, the film has done exceptionally well both domestically and internationally. And now halfway through its run in cinemas, it has done especially well in Australia setting a new record for how successful an Indian movie can do there!
In this box office report, we take a closer look at the numbers released for RRR at the Australian theater. When compared to other past successes such as Padmaavat, an A$3,221,184 number was reached while Padmaavat only managed an earnings of A$3,163,487. With this accomplishment, SS Rajamouli’s latest movie is now set to be the highest earning film in Australia’s history so far.
To put it plainly: for those who enjoy watching movies about strong female leads fighting for what they want against all odds – then you can’t miss out on seeing RRR. And don’t think that just because there are international superstars like Amitabh Bachchan and Jim Carry in it – it’ll distract from the main attraction…which are the performances of Prithviraj and Sridevi respectively!
