As India makes another leap towards modernity the prosperous nation hasn’t forgotten its heritage. Thus, it follows logically that in a movie named RRR there would be plenty of sizzling chariots wielding horses with warriors aboard. And there was—plenty. Released two weeks ago, Padmaavat witnessed moderate success during its first week; earning only Rs. 52 crore (compared to an opening weekend collection of Rs 86 crore).
Meanwhile back home at Rajamouli studios’ – RRR took less than four days for viewers to demolish yet another milestone for Indian cinema claiming almost 5 times as much! With total earnings tallying up to over Rs 250 crores already – the SS Rajamouli directorial is now arguably the biggest earner from theatres among Indian films ever created!
As of now, RRR is still being shown in theaters; with little to no competition from previous or new releases, the business for this film is expected to continue steadily. In fact, as per advance trade predictions, the earnings for this movie may even increase when it runs through its third week.
