2019 was an exceptional year for superstar Akshay Kumar with his triple successes in the Box Office-Mission Mangal, Houseful 4, and Good News. His phenomenal starts were kicked off by Kesari–a film that amassed 154.41 crore rupees at the Box Office but failed to become a Rs. 200 Crore Club member, even though it deserved to be there just as much as every other movie in this category is worth its place there too. Still, such impressive numbers took him ahead of all other top stars until 2019 rolled around again; kicking off a spate of cinematic landmarks which saw him becoming unstoppable once more like never before now or ever again.
Now so too can this trend apply to Sooryavanshi which is the first of ten-odd Akshay Kumar films released over the span of 11 days. In those 11 days alone, it had already grossed $155.73 million dollars – earning $4.5 million on its opening day. By surpassing Kesari’s lifetime earnings in only eleven days, Sooryavanshi stands as yet another cinematic triumph for Karan Johar and his associate Akshay Kumar.
The partnership most definitely works out well when they collaborate because we all know how good these two are when they work together; proven by their monumental successes such as Good News (Rs 200 crore). Now we wait eagerly to see who will work together again next? It could be Dostana 2 or perhaps something completely different…
