This month, the Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi released to overwhelming success among audiences and critics alike. Opening up with excellent numbers domestically and abroad, it is quickly becoming one of India’s most successful films of all time. In just 12 days since its release, it has made Rs. 235 crores globally – contributing Rs. 185 crores domestically and Rs. 50 crores internationally to its total gross earnings.
This surpasses previous records for what was already India’s biggest ticket film after the two-month lockdown on Hollywood productions earlier this year (which had seen collection totals fall).
