The Ram Charan – Jr. NTR starrer RRR has been taking in the money at the box office. Featuring Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, it was directed by SS Rajamouli – who also directed Baahubali. The film’s business increased over time as audiences appreciated this film too much to ignore it. With 16 days passing since its release, RRR crossed the Rs 1 billion mark at the worldwide box office now sitting firmly on top of this prestigious list with so many other films which opened before it – but failed miserably in comparison to what this one brought in.
With RRR crossing the worldwide gross of $1 billion, it has managed to become director SS Rajamouli’s second film that achieved this feat. In fact, Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion, Rajamouli’s previous work had managed this feat with roughly $800 million coming from the domestic market and an additional $200+ million from the international markets, making it India’s first-ever high-budget release. If that wasn’t enough, alongside being Rajamouli’s second film to achieve $1 billion at the box office, RRR became Ram Charan and Jr. NTR’s highest earning film yet.
With RRR, earning Rs. 1000 crore gross, both Ram Charan and Jr. NTR will make their debut in the highly exclusive Rs. 1000 crore club, while also looking forward to future earnings from one anothers films. The performance of RRR has led many trade analysts to predict further success for the film over its third weekend run – if nothing else it would be difficult not to anticipate this considering there’s little competition on the horizon at this time.
