This month saw the release of an Akshay Kumar-starring Sooryavanshi, which had been highly anticipated. Positive reviews and high opening numbers were met with continued success for a single week before gradually slowing down in both India and abroad. Still, fourteen days after its initial release at the global box office, it has made a respectable gross revenue of Rs. 250 crores (approx).
From just the Indian markets alone, they’ve managed to generate revenues worth Rs. 197 crores (approx) while even more was generated from international territories; coming out to a grand total worth Rs. 251 crores (approx.) The film is also notable for being one of the few Bollywood films released this year – during what has been called ‘the second lock-down’ – making waves all around the world once again!
