This month, Akshay Kumar’s latest movie Sooryavanshi debuted to an enthusiastic response from audiences around the world. Despite opening on a slightly disappointing note, it still had plenty of viewers who have continued watching it over the last few weeks and generated good sales in both the domestic and foreign markets over its first weekend.
Seventeen days after release, Sooryavanshi has been able to earn Rs. 270 cr ($43 million) all together at the global box office- with most of that coming domestically (Rs. 212.61 cr). While only about half came from international ticket sales (Rs. 57.65 cro), it still managed to entice people across borders back into theaters all around India for some entertainment – which is something we haven’t seen happen since before our country went through an economic crisis earlier this year!
