With its opening day totals reaching a meagre Rs. 4.05 cr, the Milan Luthria directed film Tadap released today has been met with an overwhelmingly negative response from the audience so far. With this in mind and given that it stars Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan Shetty who previously shared screen space with Tara Sutaria in his debut flick – there are also questions about whether or not he was worth putting money into as well as if he would turn out to be successful just like her previous big release Student of the Year 2 which had collected more than 12 crores on its first day alone- making him one of her most successful films ever alongside Marjaavan which managed to accumulate a whopping 7 crore rupees for it’s first day!
With little to no competition from other films being released, it was easy for Tadap to rake in the dough; it had been dominating since it opened. With expectations of seeing profit only increasing after opening weekend, people were eager to see what would happen next for this new release.
Tara Sutaria’s Highest Opening Day Grossers at a glance:
Student of the Year 2 – Rs. 12.06 cr.
Marjaavan – Rs. 7.03 cr.
Tadap – Rs. 4.05 cr.
