The Ranveer Singh-starring movie 83 was released this past Friday. It’s directed by Kabir Khan, who directs films about the India’s win at the 1983 World Cup. The film has been well-received by both audiences and critics alike. It brought in Rs 47 crore during its opening weekend – surpassing expectations for what it will earn in theatres over its entire lifetime in theaters.

But as always when it comes to calculating totals – there’s no beating Padmaavat that earned Rs 114 crores, followed by Simmba (Rs 75 crore), Gully Boy (Rs 72 crore) or Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela (Rs 52 crore).
Currently, 83 is running with audiences thronging to theaters for the show. Although there are other productions like Spider-Man: No Way Home and Pushpa, which Kabir Khan directed – it managed to maintain its hold at the box office. As predicted by trade experts, 83 will grow in revenue this week and probably next.
