The film directed by Kabir Khan starring Ranveer Singh, 83 had a positive reception among critics. The movie however was not as well received by audiences. After opening with popularity and collecting $2 million over the course of its opening weekend, it dropped to $1 million on the first Monday for revenue. Despite this, the movie has made an impressive sum at the global box office – surpassing $100 million in total revenue.
With Rs. 90.75 cr. in domestic ticket sales and an additional Rs. 43.73 cr. for international ticket sales, 83 has made a total of Rs 134 crore gross at the world wide box office so far- making it one of Bollywood’s highest earners this year! Its popularity may still rise even more over New Year’s Eve weekend- what with both new releases being postponed due to clashes between its release dates and 83 having a strong presence in theatres until late December 31st!
The trade expectation for this movie has stated it’ll make Rs. 150 crores or $25 million USD. There are also predictions that it’ll earn less than expected over the next few weeks.
