Interestingly, Pushpa: The Rise accumulated better totals in its third weekend than during its second. Experts attribute this to the postponement of Jersey that had originally been slated for release on New Year’s Eve; saving some time for Pushpa to play out over the holidays at theaters. It also enjoyed a higher number of screens running into its third weekend compared with before; which has since then decreased because of others movies such as 83 releasing soon after it.
With competition from Ranveer Singh’s 83 movie failing drastically and enjoying sluggish response, it is projected that up to Rs. 80 crores could come in for Pushpa – especially when you consider what success it already enjoys now (though only coming up to about Rs. 60 crores so far).
Pushpa (Hindi) is quickly working her way up the ladder of success with each step she takes. What started off as a film that could easily settle for making just Rs. 20 crores in its entire lifetime, will soon be quadrupling that total- which Pushpa (Hindi) has already managed to do twice over by earning Rs. 60 crores and counting. After Sunday’s record earnings of Rs. 6.25 crore, the film now stands at an amount totalling Rs. 62.94 crores- breaking what seemed like an impossible number before it was even crossed! With weeks left till its end date, there are no doubts left whether Pushpa (Hindi) can make it to pass the benchmark of 70 crores or not; but most importantly- who cares?
