First it was Sooryavanshi, now it’s Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1 (Hindi). Till the time the Akshay Kumar starrer was playing in theaters, there was a chance that it would enter the Rs. 200 crore club. It’s a different matter that release of Spider-Man: No Way Home and Pushpa meant that it had to end its run at Rs. 197 crore. Now, Pushpa (Hindi) is going through a very similar run. The film is contention for Rs. 100 crore club entry and it would be a photo finish for it as it keeps its drive on for an even higher closing total than what has been expected from an opening first weekend like this one!
This can clearly be seen in the fact that once again it reached the Rs. 2 crore benchmark, with Saturday ticket sales amounting to Rs.2.56 crores even though Friday sales totaled only Rs.1.95 crores which is slightly below this figure This film has been performing phenomenally well and the momentum it gained yesterday might just keep things going strong! With a little push today, they could reach that much-awaited milestone of Rs 85 crore or higher!
And if they are fortunate enough to avoid any last minute setbacks such as bans or closures – then reaching 100crore wouldn’t have been too far off but sadly these days anything is still possible…
