The Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1, which released last December was truly the talk of the town. When pitted against films such as Spider-Man: No Way Home and 83, it still managed to succeed financially despite having a slow start at the box office. Over the course of its three weeks in cinemas so far, Pushpa’s earnings have seen significant gains since opening week – now being considered among this year’s most successful films domestically due to its ability to garner interest and support among audiences everywhere.
Now that Pushpa is in its fifth week, it continues to make an impressive showing. With earnings of Rs. 12 crores, the film has now earned around 85 crores – a phenomenal feat for this Bollywood industry! As compared with other films released during the same time period; such as Sooryavanshi (made 60 crore) and 83 (made 50 crores), which were both films directed by Kabir Khan and Rohit Shetty respectively; it appears that Pushpa is going stronger than ever.
In addition to earning more money than both aforementioned films combined, the film’s fifth-week gross revenue surpasses what was made during weeks three and four combined – while also beating out popular hits such as those from 83 (directed by Rohit Shetty) and Dilwale (starring Ranveer Singh). It looks like Pushpa may end up crossing over 100 crore soon!
Box Office at a glance:
Pushpa (Week 4) – Rs. 11.45 cr.
Sooryavanshi (Week 4) – Rs. 6.43 cr.
83 (Week 3) – Rs. 5.27 cr.
