Our favorite dark horse in the cinema industry, Pushpa: The Rise—Part 1 continues to do amazing business even after five weeks. Openings didn’t live up to expectations but as days pass it got better and better with huge numbers day by day. It peaked its 3rd week thanks to excellent responses from audience members who felt they loved what they were watching because the premise of documentary-style filming impressed them immensely. This movie has been playing for 5 consecutive weeks now, but after these few days things are beginning to slow down.
But fear not my friends! It won’t stop anytime soon because it still made a hefty amount worth Rs 7 crores becoming one of the top 9 movies ever who’ve done well through their fifth week released making a whopping Rs 6.09 crores; previously acclaimed blockbuster Baahubali had opened on much lesser earnings going over that sum by merely 2 crore rupees (Rs 10 million).
Other recent releases like Uri – The Surgical Strike which has already grossed over Rs. 18 crore, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion that grossed over Rs. 11 crore, Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior which grossed over Rs. 10 crore, and 3 Idiots grossing over Rs. 9 crore among many others have left little room for Pushpa to compete in terms of box office earnings but it continues to stay afloat at the end of its 6th week since release. Though given these odds as according to trade estimates it seems unlikely that this movie will reach even close to the much-desired Rs. 100 crore mark anytime soon but with time being on her side there is a strong possibility she might just edge out these titles eventually!
