Since the of theatres last year, Badhaai Do has seen some success, making it one of the few films in which Tuesday’s ticket sales are comparable to those on its debut day.
Tuesday’s office takings for the film totalled Rs. 1.12 crores, which is respectable when one considers that Valentine’s Day brought in Rs. 1.85 crores, while Friday’s intake was Rs. 1.65 crores, indicating minimal fluctuation. It is anticipated that a further Rs. 2 crores should be accumulated before the end of the opening weekend, a satisfactory result overall. The cumulative sum of box office takings now stands at Rs. 10.79 crores.
In terms, the collections are low; yet, the overall trend is positive, giving reason for hope. When a larger film like Gangubai Kathiawadi arrives, there is the potential for it to secure a double-digit opening, and a strong run, provided that the word-of-mouth is good.
Despite comparatively low, the box office collections reflect a positive trend. This provides grounds to be hopeful that a major film such as Gangubai Kathiawadi will be successful and able to secure a significant opening as well as sustain momentum if audience reception is favorable.
