As expected, Section 375 jumped on Saturday. From Friday collections of Rs. 1.45 crores, it went up to Rs. 3.07 crores while other movies in the industry had high rates of return at more than the expectation rate – surely this was what we needed! On opening day, people were less enthusiastic about buying tickets but still interested enough that they wanted to see how things turned out – we’re happy to say so far it’s gone just as planned! It’s safe to say that many people who go are responding positively overall and seem pleased with what we put together for them – though not all positive feedback is included because we focus mostly on urban multiplexes for audiences targeted for entertainment content like this one.
Surprisingly enough though, the comedic movie seemed heavy-handed when compared to ours – surprisingly enough because there wasn’t really anything out from us so people may be biased before they even see what we made!
Though the film continues to do well for itself so far, it will have its work cut out for it tomorrow when we enter an entire new week. If it can continue growing at such a high rate until Saturday night, then there would be hope for an increase in its total earnings- but that is all speculation at this point. Till now, Ajeeb Dastaan has collected four crores fifty two lakh rupees from Indian audiences- and surely something like a starring role for Akshaye Khanna would warrant about ten crore rupees worth of ticket sales per day during business hours.
